Welcome to Windsor Elementary, Home of the Wildcats!
First constructed in 1953 and remodeled in 1993 and 2002, Windsor is home to 550 students in preschool through fifth grade. The school and its surrounding community enjoy a rural/suburban atmosphere - a treasured country lifestyle, close to the heart of metropolitan Spokane. It's an enviable balance between country and city life. Windsor staff and families work closely and collaboratively to create strong and motivational learning opportunities for the school’s children and their families. The Windsor community is active in school and sporting opportunities, supporting students in their academic, social, artistic, and athletic pursuits. Everyone at Windsor is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of their children!
In addition to work in the core subject areas of literacy, mathematics, science, visual arts, and social studies, students at Windsor participate in health and fitness, vocal and instrumental music, library, and world language classes taught by specialists. Students also have opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities such as Math is Cool, Fifth Grade Sports and Activities, and Fit for Bloomsday Training. Student work in visual arts is on display at our annual Art Show and Museum Walk, and families join together for a yearly curriculum night in literacy, mathematics, or science.
You may have seen notes or publications with the phrase Pride, Excellence, and Respect In Everything We Do! This is the mission statement for Windsor. It really illustrates what we see in our students – Pride in our accomplishments and the accomplishments of others and pride in our school; Excellence in our work and behavior; and Respect for others, ourselves and property. In short, Wildcats demonstrate Pride, Excellence, and Respect In Everything We Do!
